I booked a wheel place for monday August 22:nd instead as I had planned - do I understand it correctly that it's not possible to "unbook" a seat or change date?
So many good things happening over the last couple days!
Thursday morning started a bit rough. I went to sleep late and was up for 4 h
ours in the middle of the night after shooting up from bed due to a kiln-related nightmare. Then, at 7, I had to get up for the day. I couldn't sleep in because the wheels were scheduled for delivery between 9:00 and 17:00.
Just before I left for the studio, I realized that the faktura had our home address (not the studio address) as the delivery address. Kreatima wasn't open yet so I had to call the main Panduro corporate number and send an email to the store. The person I talked to on the phone said they better just take the wheels back to the store and deliver them to the correct address on another day. No freaking way! COME ON! The addresses are on the same street! My nervous little heart cannot handle any delays! Eventually the store got back to me and told me that shipping and fakturas are handled by two different companies and that the faktura company got the address wrong but the shipping company had it right :)!
I spent my time waiting for the wheels unloading and loading the kiln, testing the sealant we ordered for the studio floors, scrubbing the gunk off the walls, filling the million holes the previous tenant had made in the walls (why so many and so big?). This made a huge difference for me psychologically when looking at the space :) After being very stressed over the space for months, I started to have feelings of hope and optimism!
The rental company's electricians came at noon to assess the studios for combining their electrical systems and I convinced them to do additional electrical work while they're at it :) (for example, more outlets in the new space!). I mentioned the opening in the wall that was promised to me and they said they'd contact the guy who would be in charge of that to make sure he was aware of the project.
Then the wheels arrived at 13:00! And this time the guy from the shipping company was sweet and helpful and brought the wheels around to the back door. The guy last year refused to do anything but unload them from the truck.
At 13:15, the electricians called to tell me the wall would be cut on the 28th and the electrical work would be done on March 1! While that was happening, Adam showed up unexpectedly with lunch and was able to help me cary the wheels in.
Ewwww, ya'll!
Ewww again!
Clean window and walls on the left. Filth on the right.
So many damn holes! What is the deely yo?!
The walls are much improve with those holes filled!
Weeeeeeeee! It's coming together y'all!
Things are moving along!
1. We got the contract yesterday... with different dates than had been discussed... of course. Today we were able to talk to a different person at the rental company! She is very responsive and reasonable, so they are supposed to be updating the contract now :)
2. The wheels arrived in Stockholm today!!! They will be delivered on Thursday some time between 9:00 and 17:00. They won't be more specific that that. LOL. So I'll be there ALL DAY! But the current tenant will have his things out of the front room on Tuesday, so this will be a great time for me to do some serious cleaning and maybe fill some of the MANY holes in the wall.
Here are some photos from when the first 3 wheels arrived October 2020!
The guy just left them here on the street and I had to drag them into the studio myself. They are soooo heavy but I proudly managed! Adam came after work to document their assembly! I'm sure they will leave them in the same spot again... this time I will have to drag them much farther!
