We have 6 pottery wheels, so for larger groups that want to try the pottery wheel, we can arrange a combo event with a wheel rotation. For example, 6 people could dreja, while 6 people make a slab-built mug, and then the groups can switch places. The price includes the following per participant: up to 1.5 kilos of clay, the completion of up to 3 pieces, 1 glaze color. Learn to throw cylinders (which you can use for cups, mugs, flower pots, or vases, for example) and bowls! Perhaps the most popular ceramic technique, drejning takes years to perfect but is a lot of fun from day one. In this workshop you will learn how to cone and center the clay, raise and shape the walls to form your piece. Children aged 8 and above can participate well in all the adult workshops. I began doing ceramics when I was just 8 years old! The "completion" of a ceramic piece is a long process. A lot goes on behind the scenes after you leave the studio! Your pieces must be monitored and slow-dried to help prevent cracking. I will then fire, glaze, and fire your pieces again. Each firing plus cooling time takes around 36 hrs. The second firing goes up to 1255 degrees C! This is not something you can do in your kitchen oven at home ;) Your finished pieces will be ready for pickup from the studio on average 4 weeks after your workshop. We do not offer refunds, so please double check with your friends/family that the date and time works for you all before booking. If a member of your group has symptoms that could be Corona, we will be happy to reschedule your group's session as a thank you for staying home and keeping us all safe.

We don’t offer refunds for cancellations. Please review your schedule and coordinate with your party before you register. Plan ahead to be sure that you can attend! In 5-week classes, if you have to miss a class, please let me know ASAP. I may be able to arrange a switch with another student so you don't have to miss any class time.
